
Q: How do I search for a competition on this site?
A: On the home page search bar type in the competition name, city, or province. You can also filter results by specific features, like whether they offer livestreams, national finals, photography packages or whether photography is allowed. Don’t know what to search for? Click the All Listings tab and scroll through events. Since DanceComp.ca has over 350 listings, using the filter features and search function on this page is also available
Q: Is it really free to use this site?
A: Yes, it’s always completely free to search our directory, view competition listings, and get the information you need.
Q: What's in the newsletter, and how often will you email me?
A: Our newsletter is completely free and designed to keep you updated on the Canadian dance competition scene. We’ll only send you an email once a week (or less), and it will be packed with valuable content like: Updates on new competitions added to our directory, featured blog posts and resources.
Q: How often is the information updated?
A: Organizers manage their own listings, so the information is updated as soon as they have new details to share. We recommend you check the listing or their website for the most current schedule and registration deadlines.

Q: My competition is already on your site. How do I upgrade, edit, or remove it?
A: You can take full control of your listing by claiming it first. Just go to your competition’s listing page and click the Claim Listing button. Once you claim your listing and set up a user profile, you’ll be able to upgrade to a Premium plan to access all the features, edit your listing at any time, and create new listings for other locations or dates. If you would like to remove your listing, just contact us at [email protected], and we’ll be happy to help. Don’t have a listing with us yet? You can submit a new one by going to our Get Listed page and choosing from one of our three pricing options.
Q: Why should I pay for a listing when I can just post on social media?
A: A paid listing on DanceComp.ca gives your event a permanent, professional online home that is easy for dancers to find and share. Unlike a reel or post that gets buried over time, your listing acts as a dedicated mini-website that is discoverable on search engines and includes everything dancers need in one place.
Q: Can I add our competition's rules or waiver forms to our listing?
A: Yes, as part of our premium listing package, you can include links to all of your important documents directly on your listing page for easy access. Basic plan listings do not allow additional links.
Q: Can I list an event on DanceComp.ca if we are not Canadian based?
A: DanceComp.ca will approve any dance competition event that is scheduled and taking place in Canada for Canadian dancers and Canadian dance studios/organizations. Listings with locations outside of Canada will be removed. Please contact us at [email protected] if you need clarification on what is allowed/not allowed.
